The Spirit of Gratitude
by Cindy LeBow — November 27, 2016 in Health & Well-Being
In a time of so much turmoil, political and otherwise, it’s good to renew our sense of gratitude for the prosperity that life has to offer us. Everyone has things they’re grateful for, though sometimes we forget to acknowledge them and they fade into the background of our everyday lives.
So, today, we’re not going to talk about politics or current events. What we’re going to do instead is list the things we’re grateful for.
Why Choose Gratitude?
We live in a country where we are free to speak out loud, dress as we choose, live as we choose, create businesses, prosperity, health and happiness for ourselves and those around us, with nothing to stop us but ourselves.
I started my cleaning service as a single mother of 5 children, with no money and no resources. It was very difficult getting my business off the ground but I persevered and life rewarded me for it. Not only have I been able to provide for my family, I’ve been able to provide jobs to hundreds of people over the years so that they could provide for their families.
I’m grateful for that. I know it’s a cliche but I really do Love New York, where the streets are paved with hope and possibility.
And that should be true for each person equally. Each person deserves a chance at wealth, prosperity, health and well being, but I believe to get there it takes integrity and sacrifice. For 35 years we’ve said no to all the franchises that wanted to buy our company, because they wouldn’t do it our way, the green way, the completely for our staff and clients way. They wanted to turn us into a watered down version, with bleach, and minimum wage, and systematic cleanings… but we’re Great Green Cleaning, we do it all! And we care about the impact we have on this planet.
So, the next time you feel challenged by life, remember how grateful you are for all the good that life has to offer. Who knows what the future has in store for you? And, when you stop worrying about it, I bet you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised.
